Get emergency help if you have symptoms of an allergic reaction such as hives, difficult breathing, swelling on your face, tongue, throat, or lips.
Call your doctor on an emergency basis in the following situations:
- Severe drowsiness, weakness, or shallow breathing
- Confusion
- Itching or twitching in your hands, arms, legs, or feet
- Fever
- A seizure
Other common side effects may include:
- Drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, tiredness
- Headache
- Sleeping problems (insomnia)
- Nausea and constipation
- Urinating more often than usual
Warnings for people with specific health conditions
Epilepsy: Talk to your doctor about this drug is safe for you.
Kidney problems: If you have kidney problems, you may not be correctly clear this drug from your body. It may increase the levels of baclofen in your body and produce a more severe side effect.
If you have kidney disease, your doctor takes you at a lower dose.
Stroke: If you’ve had a stroke, you may have more severe side effects with baclofen. This drug may also not work for muscle pain.
Pregnant women: It isn’t baclofen that is safe for use in pregnant women. Discuss with your doctor if you’re pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
Breastfeeding: It isn’t known if baclofen passes into breast milk. It may cause side effects in a baby who is breastfeeding.
Children: baclofen hasn’t been studied and shouldn’t be used in children over 12 years.
