Diet For Hepatitis B: Foods to Eat and Avoid

Fruits and Vegetables: Consumption of fruits and vegetables in high quantity is very beneficial in Hepatitis B.

Protein-rich diet: The hepatitis B patient should include a protein-rich diet in their diet.

Awareness about food- One should be aware of food in Hepatitis B.

Everything you drink and eat passes through your liver. And your liver make and change food into energy. Our liver make different nutrients so your body use them to build your different cells. And maintain the structure of body and function.

Take some kind of carbs, protein, and healthy fat.

High carbohydrate, moderate protein, low-fat diet.

Carbohydrate 350 g; protein 50 g: fat 40 g.

Breakfast

  • 1 cup of tea with sugar
  • Milk (low fat) 200 ml (1 glass)
  • Bread or cereal 50 g (2 slices)
  • Jam 1 tablespoon
  • Fruit 1 glass
  • 10.30 A.M: Fruit juice one of glass or lemon with sugar/butter-milk

Lunch

  • Rice or chappati 75 -100 g (3-4 medium)
  • Dal 25 g (1 bowl)
  • Potato 100 g (1 bowl)
  • Curd 25 g (1 bowl)
  • Sago kheer: Milk (1 glass)

                         Sago 25 g

                         Sugar 15g

  • Fruits 2 (medium)
  • Cooking fat 1 tsp

TEA

  • 1 cup of tea with sugar
  • Biscuits 2-3

Dinner

Take a light Dinner like Indian simple khichdi in brown rice or any other lightweight dinner you can take before going to bed.

Avoid Refined flour items or junk food.
