Cyclothymia, also called Cyclothymic disorder, is characterized by a short period of mild depression alternating with a short period of hypomania. Still, both depressive and hypomania phases are more straightforward and less severe than bipolar I and II disorder.

If you have cyclothymia, you will have a period of feeling low followed by a period of extreme happiness and excitement, and when you do not need much sleep, you will feel that you have a lot of energy. Periods of low mood don’t last you long. It also has some depressive phases, and it is below.

- Decrease productivity
- Social withdrawal
- Loss of sexual desire or interest in pleasurable activities

- Lithium mood stabilizer
- Anti-anxiety medications such as benzodiazepine
- Valproic acid
- Various antidepressant
- Individual psychotherapy
- Couple or family therapy.
- There is no cure for cyclothymia. But there is some proper treatment that will help you manage your symptoms.
